The month of all things hearts, kisses, and hugs is upon us and I have some delicious white and dark chocolate chip cookies that are a must try. The secret to these delicious cookies is the butter.
In this recipe, you will learn how to brown butter. This enhances the flavor of the cookies and gives them all kinds of extra deliciousness. These cookies also contain instant coffee. The coffee flavors really enhance the chocolate.

I hope you enjoy sharing these delicious cookies with your Valentine!

The Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups Organic all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Organic unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 additional egg yolk, at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee
  • 1 tablespoon plain organic Greek yogurt
  • 3/4 Cups White chocolate chips
  • 3/4 Cups Dark chocolate chips
  •
This cookie dough will appear a bit darker in color because of the browned butter.

  • The Instructions:
  • 1. Add butter to a large saucepan and place over medium heat. After a few minutes, butter will begin to foam. Whisk constantly during this process. After butter begins to give off a nutty aroma, remove from heat and pour into a bowl to cool completely. Cool butter until it has slightly solidified.
  • 2. Mix butter and sugars until well combined . Then add in egg, egg yolk, vanilla, coffee, and yogurt until well combined.
  • 3. In another bowl whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Then, add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix together until combined. Stir in the white and dark chocolate chips until well incorporated.
  • 4. Roll the dough into balls and chill overnight in the refrigerator.
  • 5. After the dough has chilled, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place balls of dough onto a cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until edges are slightly brown.
  • 6. Enjoy with a cold glass of milk.
