Fall Fashion for Boys

Sometimes I struggle as a mother of two boys to find clothing that fits both boys' personal fashion choices and reflects their personalities. I want my boys to feel comfortable and confident in their clothes. Our son Eli is 8 years old and our son Hub is 5 years old. They both really, really enjoy wearing Under Armour. The fabric is super soft and stretchy. Recently, I have been trying to get our boys to branch out and wear other types of clothing. I mean you can't wear Under Armour clothes for the rest of your life. (Maybe you can, but more than likely not.)

When shopping for our boys, I try to choose items that are versatile and that will hold up to some ruff and tough boys. I also do not enjoy ironing, which is why I really love the Under Armour clothing probably as much as Eli and Hub.

Now, I must note before I get started that most of these photographs were taken in the mornings before school. I did not think their patience would allow me to do a try-on haul with their entire fall wardrobes in one sitting so I have been compiling photos every morning.

Sometimes, my boys wake up in good moods and sometimes they are in bad moods. Forest Gump's line about the box of chocolates describes are typical mornings with our boys perfectly. I have rephrased the line to better describe my children, "Eli and Hub's moods are like a box of chocolates, you never know which one you are going to get."

Outfit #1

Eli is wearing The North Face Colorblock Fullzip Hoodie. You can click on the link and shop this jacket. I loved this jacket because it is PERFECT for early fall. In Mississippi we have cool mornings and then it turns warmer in the afternoons. Plus, this jacket is so versatile.
He is wearing The North Face Journeyman shorts in the color, British Khaki and Short-Sleeve Pieced Graphic Tee in the color Mango Orange Heather. This all ran pretty true to size. Eli is wearing a medium in the shorts which is an 8/10 and a medium in the shirt. I did size up to a Large in the jacket because he will eventually wear the jacket over his clothing once the temps drop.

Outfit #2

Goodness gracious! Hub was not in a good mood to take photos. Oh well, he still looks cute! I could not find the link for this exact Tee that he is wearing but you can find this similar one Preppy Bear Cotton Jersey Tee. That link will take you to the Polo Ralph Lauren website, but I actually found the sweet little shirt he is wearing from Belk. His shorts are the Crown & Ivy Performance Shorts. The fabric on these shorts feels amazing. They are stretchy and perfect for little boys. Plus, no ironing required! Hub is wearing a 4 regular in both the shirt and the shorts.

Hub wanted to wear a jacket since his brother had a jacket. I actually scored this little jacket at TJ Maxx, but you can find a similar one here: Boys Resolve Reflective Jacket or Mix-in-Match Triclimate Shell Jacket. Hub is wearing a size XSmall.

Outfit #3

I purchased these outfits for the boys to wear to church on Sunday mornings. These short sleeved shirts are PERFECT for early fall and I love for the boys to match (I'm going to ride that matchy-matchy train until it derails). They look cute and it makes them easier to spot in a crowd. Both boys are wearing Southern Tide Short-Sleeve Lil' Jack Heathered Pique Performance Polo in the color Heather Green Tea and their pants are Channel Marker Pants in the color Dark Denim. The Southern Tide brand runs true to size.

Outfit #5

Hub is wearing the Southern Tide Short-Sleeve Bimini Stripe Performance Polo paired with the Channel Marker Pants. He was very excited about the locust and going to Sunday School the day these photos were taken. Little boys are so mischievous.

Outfit # 6

Eli is wearing the Southern Tide Long-Sleeve Check Sport Shirt with the Southern Tide Channel Marker Pants. He was very contemplative on Sunday morning- maybe we all should be like Eli, especially on Sunday mornings. Eli's shoes are the Steve Madden Boys' BMARK Knit Dress Shoes. His are a dark brown, but the linked shoes are a navy and would be perfect for fall.

Outfit #7

Eli is wearing The North Face Journeyman Shorts in Asphalt Grey, The North Face Short-Sleeve Box-Logo Back Graphic Tee in Burnt Olive Green, and The North Face BTS Colorblock Fullzip Hoodie. Again, this hoodie is so versatile. It goes with everything and it is PERFECT for early fall. It was a little chilly the morning of this photo shoot and Eli was very happy to have this hoodie to put on!

Outfit #8

It was 59 degrees when we shot these photos! PERFECT Fall Weather!!! I'm so excited!
Eli is wearing The Children's Place Boys Halloween Pumpkin Graphic Tee and the Polo Ralph Lauren Straight Slim Fit Denim Jeans. The Children's Place offers a variety of these tees! They are so cute and super festive. Plus, they are currently on sale!

Outfit #9

Hub was not feeling it. I told you these boys are unpredictable. That morning's drama consisted of his new boots that he had picked out and socks. He picked out some new boots from Williams Brothers, but he was not too happy about having to wear socks with his boots. He was totally fine by the time he arrived at school.
Hub is wearing The Children's Place Boys Halloween Ninja Graphic Tee and  the Polo Ralph Lauren Sullivan Slim-Fit Buck Jeans. Hub's new boots that I hope he learns to love considering the fact that he was dying to have them when we were in Williams Brothers are The Original Muck Boot Company KID'S ROVER II.
