Last Splash Before School

Tomorrow my boys will begin a new school year. They have not been to school since March and both boys are really excited to see their friends and teachers. We have purchased school supplies, new clothes, new shoes, new book bags, and new lunch boxes. And, we have purchased a mask.

I am not too thrilled about the mask requirement and neither are my boys, but that is a subject for another post. We are going to make the best of a very messy situation and we are going to pray for our teachers, because they are the ones that will suffer as long as this mask mandate continues.

Today, I stayed home with my boys and we have had a good, “do nothing” kind of day. They slept late and I did a little bit of cleaning.

We played at the pool. Eli has just about mastered his dive and Hub is beginning to learn how to dive. He is still doing a belly flop. Hub learned to swim this summer and he is like a little fish now.

Tonight, we will lay out our clothes and unfortunately, our masks, for the first day of school. We will say our prayers, and go to sleep. Tomorrow will be the first day for a lot of new things- temperature checks, masks, social distancing, the list goes on and on.

We will all hope and pray for the best because in the end, that is all we can do.
